Developing the 500 acres surrounding the Christian Broadcasting Network and Regent University off Indian River Road in Virginia Beach has long been an option, awaiting a vision. It has arrived. Blenheim will be an exciting new residential, retail and office environment in Virginia’s vibrant Hampton Roads region.
Designed by one of the nation’s leading new urbanist planning and architecture firms, Shook-Kelley of Charlotte, North Carolina, Blenheim will feature a host of quality retailers, many new to the area, with offices and residences loc

ated on floors above stores. There will be a large office campus, anchored by the expanding headquarters of Amerigroup Corporation, two hotels as well as single and multi-family residences. A 65-acre lake will be both an aesthetic and stormwater management amenity.
The key to the development, and one of its best features, is the proposed construction of a new interstate interchange that will take guests and residents directly onto a new major arterial, City Line Road, that will not only serve Blenheim but also connect commuters to Centerville Turnpike, Indian River Road and Kempsville Road. The City Line Road exit will relieve traffic congestion on existing roadways in the area and fulfill a dream of planners who have envisioned a new interchange at that juncture since a 1999 VDOT study that recommended its construction. So as to minimize the impact of the development on Greenbrier Parkway and Indian River Road, CBN and its partners will complete the road improvements before opening Blenheim.
